Retainer SC

The SC profile is a radial shaft seal, for shaft sealing, consisting of a single metal cage with a rubber lining and a primary sealing lip with integrated spring.

CHARACTERISTICS 

1. Good static sealing.
2. Compensation of different thermal expansion.
3. Reduced risk of fretting corrosion.
4. Increased surface roughness of the bore is permitted.
5. Installation in split housings.

TOLERANCE FOR THE INNER DIAMETER OF THE SEAL 

When not under pressure, the inside diameter of the sealing lip is always smaller than the shaft diameter. The difference between the two dimensions is known as interference or pre-fitting. Depending on the shaft size, the sealing lip diameter is estimated to be between 0.8 mm and 3.5 mm smaller. It will depend on the setting chosen by each manufacturer.
