DIN 3760 Type A seals are seals which have only one sealing lip (no additional lip or dust lip) and are fully elastomer coated. They are mainly used for sealing purposes and are usually chosen for confined spaces with low contamination or in applications where any additional lip could mark the shaft. There are different variants depending on the outer coating: standard (SC), reinforced (SF), grooved (SG) or injection moulded (SO). There are also variants in which the sealing lip has splines with a direction of rotation ('L' to the left, 'R' to the right or 'W' bidirectional) to follow the same rotation of the shaft and control lubricant expulsion.
